AMG International's Ministry for Estate Planning and Gift Design
When you think of stewardship, you often think of tithes or the use of resources, but the concept also includes planning for the distribution of your estate. AMG International works with Barnabas Foundation to help our ministry partners with their estate plans. Creating an estate plan helps you to make a difference for the future, benefit from tax savings, take care of loved ones, increase retirement income, and steward God's provision.
Wills & Bequests
Including a charitable bequest (cash, securities, real estate or other assets) in your will is a simple way to make a lasting gift to AMG international. Most estates have three categories of beneficiaries: heirs, charitable organizations and the government. We encourage you to maximize your gifts to the first two and limit the third. This can be accomplished through careful estate planning.
A bequest is the easiest, most tangible way to create a lasting legacy. It is a gift made through your will, living trust or with codicil directing a gift to AMG International. There are several ways to structure a bequest by indicating:

- A percentage of your estate
- A specific piece of real estate

Stock Gifts
AMG International gladly accepts gifts of securities, both publicly-traded and closely-held. Gifting appreciated securities to AMG can provide special tax benefits to the donor compared to a similar gift of cash. By gifting appreciated securities that have been owned for longer than one year, you can qualify for a charitable income tax deduction based upon the security's full fair market value regardless of the cost basis. You can also avoid capital gains taxes that would have occurred if the stock had been sold.
Publicly-traded securities can be given to AMG quickly and easily. You simply instruct your broker to wire transfer the desired securities directly from your brokerage account to AMG's account. The charitable gift, which is completed when the security is received in the account, is valued by taking the average of the high and low price of the security on that day.
