Mercy Hostel
The Mercy Hostel is located in the province of Nan in northern Thailand. The residents are from the Luwa tribe and are mostly farmers. They do not own the land that they work on, and due to poor soil conditions, their income is very low. The religion of this area is mostly Buddhist. A group of Thai Christians started an outreach in the village years ago, which lead to Prathum Danunnart, a seventy-five-year-old retired teacher, coming forward to take care of the children. Prathum Danunnart and his wife, Ratchaneewan, first took in eleven children into their home to take care of them. Now, the hostel is home for over thirty children. At the hostel, children get a better education, learn basic life principles and skills, and receive spiritual training. The Mercy Hostel gives hope to the children and their families as it demonstrates the love of Christ.
