Mount Moriah Child Development Center
The Mount Moriah Child Development Center in the village of Pinget, 130 miles north of Manila, is in one of the poorest areas of the Philippines-80% of the residents live in poverty. Often as many as 8 family members live in one cramped house. Many are immigrants from neighboring cities and scrounge through trash or work the streets as vendors. This village does not have an elementary school or a high school. Around 90% of the children are malnourished because of the lack of healthy food or clean water, and the spread of various diseases. AMG has joined with the local congregation of Bibak Bible Church to help meet the needs of the children in the area. These children come to the center and receive nutritious food, clean clothing, education, and spiritual training. The staff goes out and invites the children’s families to Bible study and offers classes in nutrition. The love of Christ is expanding in this village and bringing wholeness to the community.
